Our marble slabs are polyester-coated. Polyester-coated slabs are less maintenance-intensive, but must not be exposed to direct sunlight, as this will cause discolouration, which also occurs if hot objects are placed directly on the slab. To maintain the lustre, acidic drinks (e.g. fruit juices) should be wiped away quickly. For commercial use, MDF sub-surfaces are glued under the natural stone worktops, as direct dowelling of the worktops would not withstand the strain. The MDF boards are available at an extra charge.
